I am overjoyed to announce that I have been called as the Outreach Pastor to Zion Lutheran Church in Ann Arbor. This means that FedUp has grown its partnership with Zion Lutheran Church in Ann Arbor, too! Zion has been a commissary kitchen for FedUp Ministries during our 2021 operations, but now they will also become our fiscal agent. This doesn’t change anything about how our finances work internally, but it does mean that Zion will partner with the ELCA Churchwide office and the Southeast Michigan Synod Office of the ELCA to pay my salary. It also means that FedUp officially has office space!
I am so proud of the members of Zion, the lay leaders, and the pastors who made this partnership possible. They have called their first openly queer pastor since opening their doors roughly 148 years ago. God is so good!
They have called a pastor that soley focuses outwardly. God's love is radiating through the walls of this building and into our community.
And most importantly, they have participated in and supported the ministry we do at FedUp from the beginning. When they said yes to this opporutnity they really meant it! They’ve allowed the Holy Spirit to transform their hearts and lives, and they aren’t done yet. God is so good!
