In addition to working with FedUp, Pastor Anna and her team are involved with several external groups, including the Washtenaw Food Policy Council, the Washtenaw County Advisory Council on Reparations, and the Homelessness Solidarity Network. This engagement is especially important as FedUp looks for ways beyond the food truck to engage the community and make an impact.
Pastor Anna is a member of both the Washtenaw Food Policy Council and Washtenaw County’s new Advisory Council on Reparations, where she actively engages in work to uplift the community. This term on the Food Policy Council, Anna is serving as the Policy Liaison on the Executive Committee. The Advisory Council on Reparations is a newer group, and Pastor Anna is serving as the Vice Chair on this committee alongside Chair Andre’ Watson. Anna is excited for the ways this work will impact our beloved community long term. Established about a year ago, the Council’s goal is to develop a comprehensive implementation plan for the Washtenaw County Board of Commissioners to address inequities in homeownership and access to housing, employment and business opportunities, neighborhood and community safety, and access to quality healthcare and education. Working with the Homelessness Solidarity Network, FedUp has been able to build relationships with other organizations in the community who also serve the unhoused, precariously housed, and homeless populations. This robust network is a space where organizations come together to share resources and offer support as needed.
The support of our donors, volunteers, and community members allows FedUp to do the upstream work of organizing alongside the vital work of providing direct services for those in need. THANK YOU for helping us live out our faith together.
